What are chemical peels?

How are chemical peels used?
Chemical peels are topically applied chemical solutions that improve, smooth and aid in the restoration, texture and rejuvenation of the skin by removing damaged out layers of skin. There are many different peels ranging from light, medium and deep that all produce a different desired result. When applied they create an even and controlled shedding of skin exposing younger and healthier skin. Chemical peels are helpful for those individuals with facial blemishes wrinkles and uneven skin pigmentation.
When are chemical peels used?
Chemical peels restore wrinkled, blemished, unevenly pigmented spots or sun-damaged facial skin using a chemical solution to peel away the skin’s top layers.
Superficial epidermal peels exfoliate the upper layer of the epidermis. The deeper peels are used for deep wrinkles in the skin.
Chemical peels are most commonly performed for cosmetic reasons, to enhance your appearance and self confidence. Chemical peels may also remove pre-cancerous skin growths, soften acne facial scars and control acne.
